I have one. Lots of features but not worth it if your paying full price in my opinion. I got mine for about half price.

        oooh thanks for the tip.

i guess i was doing more browsing right now and i notice that the similarly priced surefire l2 doesn't have all the features that the gladius has...

        is surefire just overpriced also?

The Gladius with the Seoul LED mod was quite the tactical darling for a while, but the whole tac-LED technology is moving so fast, it's risky to spend that much on gear that may be obsolete before long. Personally, I'm leaning towards standardizing on the Surefire p60 compatible bodies, as that's where all the upgrade action is, and you have options beside the vendor upgrades.

The Gladius comes with the Luxeon LED standard, which is pretty last year and is pretty low output for today's tac light world, but is relatively easy to upgrade to a Seoul star for extra $. Also, it's a bit complicated to operate, with its multi-mode tailcap. Some people are OK with that, others want something simpler for a tac light. I prefer simpler over a bunch of .

Here's a good review and comparison that gives a good feel for the light.

I'd recommend handling one before committing that kind of money.
