Scope bedding on round receiver

So I was wondering if I need to bed my Savage round receiver. I'm using a NF 20moa base and Vortex low rings. When I mount the base with just the two front screws there is no flex or gaps that are visible. So how would you know if it needs bedding when the receiver is round? Would the only true way to know is to use a alignment tool?
