Issues with Bushnell TRS-25

Looking to the community for help.

I've had a TRS-25 for about 4 months now. I put this on my AK. On the last range session, I noticed that after a couple shots the red dot went crazy on me. I took it off and shot irons the rest of the day.

When I got home, I turned it on and it looked okay. I tried shaking it and knocking it around a little (not too aggressively) and cannot replicate the issue.

I did however notice that the red dot is not a circle anymore, but more of a triangular shape.

I have not gone back to the range and plan on doing it in the next couple weeks.

Has anyone had this issue before? Thinking about just sending it back to Bushnell but I do not want it to come back to me with "no problem found"

Haven't had this issue with mine yet and I even shot it on my FN SLP shotgun so it can handle the recoil. What mount are you using? I bought the UTG mount that came with the Primary Arms combo deal and I tighten it down so that I can't remove it without tools.

i had it mounted directly to the front handguard so the TRS is mounted right above the piston tube just forward of the rear sights

You have it mounted on the receiver and not the handguard, right? Optics are meant to be mounted on the receiver as handguards can move and flex.

unfortunately, it is on the handguard, which i know probably moves.

I am actually looking into a side rail mount that is light and/or a rail mount that integrates on the rear sight location which is on the receiver end.

regardless of where it is mounted, i am not sure how much abuse this little unit can take.

Oh, sorry, I forgot you mentioned that this is an AK. It should work fine out there on an Ultimak rail. Like I mentioned, I've run this on a shotgun and it's been GTG. My buddy also runs this on his shotgun.
