Was looking through a couple of models of ACOGs at Metroshot the other day and was really impressed with these optics. I've also gotten to try them at the range and shooting the plates out beyond 300 was really easy from the bench. But I'm wondering if the Bindon Aiming Concept works all that well at close range. Using a display rifle with ACOG, I tried using both eyes open thorugh optic and focusing on a poster on the wall about 10yds away. However, when I closed my weak eye and looked through the magnified optic with my dominant eye I notice that the reticle seemed to be pointing to a slightly different location on the poster. Does this mean that using both eyes open(BAC) the POI will be slightly off at closer distances(less than 50 yds)? Thanks in advance.

I have the same problem with using BAC and always had to compensate for close range hosing. IIRC, someone posted their experiences with it as well and they equated it to something called 'phoria'. It affects different segments of the population to a certain degree so in some people, it's less of a factor. -
It takes practice. When using the RCO just keep both eyes open and it will "train" your eyes so to say. Once you get used to it, it is an awsome tool to have a close range.None are more hopelessly enslaved then those who falsely believe they are free."

Sometimes, the shifting of the sight may mean that your "weak" eye is actually your dominant eye. However, when I closed my weak eye and looked through the magnified optic with my dominant eye I notice that the reticle seemed to be pointing to a slightly different location on the poster.Comment
