    DIY flip to side scope?

So I was wanting to get a flip to side scope mount for my 10/22.
The idea is iron sights up to 25m and scope from there out.
Unable to find something available for this I was thinking of this combo
2x sun optics fts mounts Sun optics
    with 30mm to 1" inserts

    Think that would work?

I'm looking at the Nikon Prostaff EFR scope in the 3-9x40 flavor. Was built to stay zeroed through heavy spring airguns. so I think it should stay zeroed through the flipping.

    Thoughts?

That sun optic mount looks like it is more for a magnifier and not a scope. This does not sound like a good idea to me but I am interested to see where this goes.

Why not get a quick disconnect mount instead?

How about see through scope rings?

flip-to-side scope mounts aren't made to return to position with the kind of precision you'd need to make this idea work. even my larue mount has a tiny bit of play in it when it's behind my eotech -- it's no big deal for a magnifier, because the zero lives in the RDS, but it would kill you with an actual scope.

            Thanks for the replies.

BellasDaddy- I was thinking that even though they were for magnifiers I could use a 30mm to 1" insert to make it usable for a scope.

Jyruiz- To be honest I didn't really pursue that. The one quick disconnect I saw was very pricey. Like twice what I would spend on my set up including scope.
This may be a better alternative.....

Wilit- Thought about this too but couldn't find see through rings with decent enough reviews to go on.

Strongpoint- Thanks for this input. Having no hands on experience with the fts mounts (and none locally I could go see) I wasn't sure how snug they sat when in the "on" position.

Makes me wish I had skill as a machinist. While searching I found plenty of people asking/looking for this but no viable solution. The closest is a Weaver product discontinued more than 20 years ago.
Might try and give it ago just for S&G. I'll update this if anything interesting happens.
            Thanks again for the input.

Look at the Burris P.E.P.R, not expensive and decent QD mount.
