The family got me a Celestron MAK-90 spotting scope for my birthday. I'll get it out in the light tomorrow and give a quick report on clarity etc...

The eye piece determines the power, it comes with a fixed 39x but any Plosi eye piece will work. Many are available from variable to fixed up to 100x with the same scope body. The lens in the eye piece looks to about an inch wide... I have only looked through my front window with it, but it's much better than anything I've had...I was able to read the numbers on the garbage cans at about 350 yards. The real proof will be when I get it to the range. Drawback will be that it's made in china, not waterproof or even resistant. So durability will be a question. I have a good quality highpower scope stand and you will need a quality stand for this beast. So far, two thumbs up!Comment
