Truglo vs Trijicon sight comparisons? Opinions please?

I have a Springfield XD 45 that I'd like to replace the front and rear sights. The OEM that are white are getting dirty and very difficult to clean, thus making it very difficult to see agains a black target. I'm looking at Truglo and Trijicon. Any thoughts, opinions and feedback on these two sights would be appreciated. I need somthing that will have low snag and obviously easy to see. Thanks!

I put Truglo on all my pistols now. You really cannot beat the brightness of fiber optic during the day. Trijicon offers no daytime advantage. Nighttime operation will be equivalent. I also recommend getting the contrasting colors with bright green in front and yellow in rear. That eliminates any hesitation in finding the forward sight in very dark situations.

I use Meprolights night sights, they claim to be 20% brighter than any other sight in the market. They are low profile, not bulky like others.
          Hau!

I completely agree. I have this set-up on my Glock 23.

Trijicon will last a long time. Sometimes they are brighter than Mepro sometimes not. They do not offer any advantage in day shooting and it could be said they offer none at night. They allow you to align your sights at night but they do not help you i.d. The target.

I would skip truglo, they are not durable. I cannot count the number of times I have seen the fiber optic thing break.

I have a Glock 19 and Glock 26 and run Truglo F/O's on both with Green FS and Yellow RS. My thought process was two-fold.

                  1. The green is brighter and will pull my focus to the FS.
                  2. If by chance I do look at my RS, the yellow will tell me to slow down, look through, find the green FS and GO!

                  Just my $.02
