Good to see I'm not the only one wondering, lol. I've been looking at the same scope every day for the past week!

They make a capped version? I had open "tactical" finger turrets that had very stiff, positive clicks. Didnt know they make a capped....

Definitely go Finger Turret style. There are white notches on them with numbers every 4 clicks (1/4" MOA clicks), and can be reset to "zero" out the numbers. If you happen to bump it and turn the turrets (dont see how that's possible, really), you can quickly go back to the zero mark, or wherever you had it set.

uncapped if your going to be adjusting for windage and bullet drop.

Capped if your going to set them and forget them, usually for folks who are going to use the reticle to guage shots and do all that.

The capped is nice so you dont accidently bump your turrets. but as was said, you can set them at zero so its easy to see where they are supposed to be.

        Combat optic=Capped
        Paper killer=uncapped

I would say yes ha ha ha

If its a range toy the turrets are nice, you can adjust your elevation so that your center reticle is your point of aim, which is nice sometimes. However, I would recommend the MOA version with capped turrets to "most" people.

"most" bullet drop calculators are going to feed you data in inches, so if you know your hitting 4 inches low at 100 yards, you just lift your reticle 4 MOA (4 stadia lines) and your on target.

Now if you were hitting 16" low at 800 yards, you would hold over 2MOA, (1 MOA at 800 is 8" NOT 1")

If you were hitting 32" to the left of your target at 800 yards, all you do is aim to the right 4 MOA.

400 yards would be about 4" for MOA, so if you were hitting 32" to the left of your target at 400 yards all you do is aim to the right 8MOA.

I personally find MOA better to calculate than Mils, however I can dope mils just as easy, if your purchasing a scope with a BDC reticle, target turrets seem sort of silly.

Thanks for the info and yes, this is a range toy that I will be using to shoot steel from 25 yards all the way to 300 yards, maybe a little bit farther.

                  FYI,

Most pictures show the mil reticle. The MOA reticle has numbers 20 and 30 on it. not 4 and 6.

Each line is 2MOA each. so for a 500 yard zero out of most AR15s, you would be 11-12.5 MOA out, and hold over six lines on your target. If that makes sense.

I am reading the PDF now and I do see the 20 and 30 marks for the MOA scope. I got a lot to learn about this stuff.

Capped on a 1-4x. Why the F would anyone be dialing Elevation or Windage on a 1-4x? A low power optic like a 1-4x is intended for quick shots inside 400yds. Zero it, put the caps on and forget about it. Use the reticle, that's what a good reticle is for.

I'm jealous now! I'll be ordering mine down the road. I keep going back and forth between a better red dot and a scope, and I think the scope would be of more use to me. That, and I can get a small red dot mounted offset.

I have had an RDS and magnifier, now it's time for a scope, plus, I am going to get a 2nd AR and put an Eotech on that AR.
