I just DROS'ed a Savage 10 FCP-K and have a Nikon Monarch 5-20x44 SF BDC I'm going to put on it however I read the specs on the Nikon and found this: Max internal adjustment: 40 MOA.
So based on everything I've been reading it sounds like if I want to go out to 600-800 I'm not going to have enough adjustment in the scope, is this accurate?
If that is the case do I need to get a mount that 'preloads' the adjustment?
I'm looking at the DNZ tactical one piece mount that adds 20 MOA, if I get this will it have any adverse affects on shooting at shorter ranges or is okay for 100-200 and 600-800?
I know someone will ask about the intent of the rifle/scope, it's mainly to have fun shooting at the range and for friendly competitions with my BiL shooting the IDPA/IPAC cardboard torsos when I go out to my in-laws ranch where distances can run out to 800+.
I'm not looking to compete but when my BiL sets up one of the targets way out there and says 'Let's see who can hit that' I want to have a chance at it.
