    Help on choosing an optic

So I'm planning on upgrading from iron sights to an optic

thinking of the bushnell elite 3200 tactical 10x with mildot 1/10 mil adjustments from midway

or the Burris MTAC 1-4x24mm illuminated Ballistic CQ reticle with 1/4 MOA adjustments

I'm only planning on shooting 500 yards maximum with a 16" AR 15

anyone can chime in on the pros and cons / real experience with them?
    thank you

Completely different usage scenarios. the 10x scope will be difficult to use for anything other than prone/bipod/bags/etc, whereas the MTAC is meant to be used in red-dot to acog ranges, both eyes open at 1x and the option to zoom in a bit and make minute of man hits out to a couple hundred yards.

Basically -- if you're shooting paper for group size, grab the 10x scope, if you want to do run'n'gun, steel, etc the MTAC is probably a safer bet.
