Veridian X5L RS for shotty?

I've been looking at the new Veridian X5L RS, especially for my mossberg 500. The RS is for rifle/shotgun. But from looking at the specs of the touch pad, its only for rifles because of the touch pad attachment on the rail (I spoke to Veridian about this).

Has anyone mounted this laser to their shotgun and if they did, how?

I would think you will need the pressure pad on the fore end, but I'm not sure that the flexing of the straight cord is going to work well. Most applications I have seen for shotguns use a coiled cord, like on a telephone handset. (Wow, am I dating myself with that. Tell us another one, Grandpa!"

You could certainly mount both the light/laser and the remote on the forend, it's not like the 12-gauge is a precision weapon - the movement of the forend isn't going to make a lot of difference.

Perhaps you could mount the remote on the grip, and the light/laser on this:

No movement/stress on the cable that way.
