Adjustable Objective vs Adjustable Parallax

I'm looking at getting a scope for a .22 I'll basically be using it for rats at night. So I'm looking for a scope that can focus at short range. I found two scopes that may suit my needs. They are very similar.

Now the Bug Buster shows that it has an Adjustable Objective and the SWAT has a Parallax Adjuster. Are these two features basically the same or do they perform different functions? I've did some research on the web but I get conflicting information. If they are different, then which of the two would be best for close range targets.

So if you have the funds it is easy to buy that much. This is going on a 10-22 takedown, although may have to change the mounts but I am ok with that. Happy Thanksgiving. I can't answer the question about AO vs PA as this is the first scope I have bought in over 40 years. Yeah thats right I am an old fart and my vision is not as good as it used to be.

An adjustable objective and side focus turret do the same thing, adjust the parrallax. Its personal preference to which you want, I like the side focus for most scopes because I can keep my eye behind teh glass and easily adjust to the distance I am shooting. For BR, I like the AO because its set it and forget it because my distance wont change on the fly.
