EoTech XPS 2-2 Mounting Questions

I just purchased and EoTech XPS 2-2 and 3x Mag combo from Primary Arms. This is my first Holo sight and I was just wondering if anyone has this mounted without a riser with a solid front sight. I have a Stag Arms 2T upper and I dont think of this issue when I bought it. I read that getting the Yankee Hill rail riser can raise it .300 and have the front tip in the lower third of the sight. Anyone have any experience with this? Any suggestions on the best way to mount this?

If you have a fixed front sight, you may lose some field of vision. Unless you like having an absolute cowitness.

very nice looking rifle! I like the Larue riser but do you think the YHM riser would be just fine since its 1/3 of the price of the larue? I plan on mounting the 3x magnifier as well.
