    Trijicon Acog TA648-308

Guys I am this close >< to buying the Trijocon Acog TA648-308. The only thing stopping me is I can't find any local shop that carries it to check it out nor have I found any reviews on a retail website with customer feedback.

I want to mount it to my M1A scout. I currently have the vltor stock/rail set up which brings my rifle to about 9.5 pounds. If I mount the TA648 it will weigh in at almost 3 pounds extra putting me at 12.5. Should I sacrifce the extra weight for the magnification and large reticle? I like the both eyes open (BAC) thing.

Has anyone used it on an m1a? or any rifle for that matter, what's your take on it?

Martin B Retting in Culver City had a TA648 last Wednesday, but I have no idea what version.

I'm assuming you have the full extended rail since it won't work with the standard. I don't know the specs of the TA648, but make sure it has enough eye relief and you will probably need some sort of cheek riser. 2 of the main problems with mounting acogs to M1a's is the eye relief and their height.
