The Strikefire is a very good choice! wouldn't say it's comparable to the Bushnell trs-25 you listed, but is similar to the trs-32 (but $40 more)... it's a proven reliable and quality rds - I like mine (a lot).

don't know anything about the Nikon.

*Edit... I see the PA you are referencing is in their "scope" collection (I was looking under red dot sights)... that might be a good choice (Primary Arms gets good reviews on quality and functionality)... if that mount is interchangeable, I'd consider it (would replace with quick detach mount)... it the mount is built in, I'd skip it.

Add a Weaver V3 1-3x20 ($170) to your list. It's not illuminated but it's rugged, has excellent optics, and a true 1x low-end. I'd pair it with a $90 Burris QD P.E.P.R. mount.

Or go with a Weaver V10 2-10x38 (have SWFA price match) in the same mount for 255 shipped, $270 with flip-up lens caps.

For the price you could get that Nikon P-223 for, you could also get a USA-made Redfield Revolution 2-7x32. Worth lookin' at, if you haven't already.

Optics can be driven by personal preference and application… so spend some time thinking about your own preference and an optic to match your shooting style.

I like low power variable scopes, especially for the distances you will be shooting at. Plenty of 1-4x type scopes to choose from. I like being able to dial in magnification, I like using a target reticle with MOA or MIL graduations over a hold over type reticle, and I like having target turrets. But this is my own personal preference.

Out of the 4 options on the list, I would probably go with the PA 3x Compact… my reason is simple; I just like the reticle better.

If you want a red dot, both the Vortex and Bushnell have their own pros and cons… One thing Vortex has is an amazing warranty, but it’s larger and has a 4 MOA dot. The Bushy is smaller, lighter, and has a 3 MOA dot. So I would probably end up with the Bushnell even though I am a huge Vortex fan. I have always been a bench rest and casual target shooter and never really fancied red dots for my style of shooting, but they are extremely easy to use and fast close in. Never had much luck trying to shoot small groups with them as a 3 MOA dot would cover up about 3” of a target at 100 yards.

It is not sub 200, but take a look at a Lucid HD7 as an option.

If you have a 5.56 chamber and plan to shoot 5.56 then our 3x PA is the way to go. P-223 M-223 are set for a 55gr ballistic tip that has a higher BC then both M193 and M855 so will shoot high.
Further more shooting .223 loads in a 5.56 chamber you loose 100-200 fps
throwing the BDC off.

We have the AR332 in stock I have shot them before it's basically the PA scope with different reticle using dots instead of cross hair. An older friend if mine could not see the smaller 500 yard dot very well but other then that they are good to go
