Badger Ord. Max50 rings overkill on .308?

Hey guys and gals wussup.....thanks to the brilliant minds on calguns I am confident about ordering rings for my 700PSS and am pretty sure I am going to order those Max50

So my specific question would be, does anybody think the large 1" wide bases of these monsters would prohibit fine tuning of eye-relief etc? All comments welcome.......

Building a precision rifle is an enormous undertaking. Had I sat down and calculated out all the money I would need to spend to be reasonably accurate I think I would've started building my dream AR-10 instead. Especially after reading "High Power Rifle Accuracy" by Arnold, now I'm a neurotic mess.......

i'm sure it theoretically limits eye relief adjustment options, but i think it's more a hit on the wallet than anything. stand BO rings, which is what i use, would be (and have been) more than adequate

I agree. The standard BO rings are beefy enough. Take a look at seekins precision as well for some excellent, beefy rings. He has some 6 screw ones if you're interested.

Wide rings like this definitely limit the adjustments, depending on the scope and rail. If you've got a long Picatinny rail or a scope with a good bit of open space on the tube, you'll be OK, but shorter rails can cause problems.
