I was just wondering, can I only use scopes that are made for rimfires or could I just use the same scope I would use on for example a bolt action .270 or any other higher caliber. I was thinking of buying this scope http://cheaperthandirt.com/25588-17508-1501.html I wanted to know if this scope would work on my 10/22.

10/22 Rimfire Scope Question?

Any scope will work on a rimfire rifle. You don't need over a 9x power. Bushnell has very good scopes. You will probably need a 10/22 weaver style base and rings like go on center fire rifles.

Yes, I have the 10/22 weaver mount, what rings should I buy for that scope from the link, I'm a noob when it comes to scopesComment

I meant to say you don't need over a 9x power scope for a 22 rifle. Any good quality weaver style ring will work. I wouldn't spend to much on them because they are just going on a 22 rifle. Mount the scope as low as possible without the bell touching the barrel or the adjustable sight. Be careful not to over tighten the screws. You can pick up some rings at a Wal-Mart or a sporting store.
