If you only want 1" groups at 25 yards, why do you even need a scope?Brian Kelly
PM me for electrical work -
I actually meant less than 1" groups (like putting the bullets through the same hole...to simulate longer range shooting...plus I have bad eyes
So are adjustable objectives necessary at be that accurate at 25 yards?
Some scopes are set for parallax at 100 yards...does that mean there's no parallax at less than 100 yards or none at more than 100 yards?Comment

The AO is not needed. You might try a Redfield scope. They are made by and warr thru Leupold.A 30cal will reach out and touch them. A 50cal will kick their butt.

Does the Redfield revolution and revenge have the same glass? Just different reticles?Comment

Scopes with fixed parallax… let’s say 100 yards, will be increasingly more difficult to use at closer distances when you increase magnification…
I had a 3-9x40 and at 25 yards anything above 3.5-4x was hard to use since the reticle or target becomes extremely blurry depending on what your eye of focusing on.
For a target scope, I think AO / Parallax adjustment is a very important feature. Mitigating parallax shift is only going to help with shot to shot consistency.
For a hunting scope, it’s nowhere as critical.
The millet TRS-1 is a good example of a scope which can be used at 16x at 25 yards since the parallax adjustment can be set as close as 25 yards.
Every target scope I own has a side parallax adjustment.ExtremeXComment

Heres an interesting study my boss and I did on parallax error with a few leupold scopes and how much error he noticed while choosing a scope for a hunt:
>I'll be leaving next Monday for an antelope hunt in Wyoming. I needed a new scope. Those of you who read this blog and my forum posts are aware that I don't like bells and whistles and unneccessary functions that just get in your way and tend to take your head out of the game.
