Just stay away from the matchdot. There have been problems lately with them (or at least just a string of reports!)
And it looks like that millet is a reverse engineered matchdot sent to China for cheap-labor copying.Comment

If you are referring to the UltraDot MatchDot, then I am sorry, but I would have to beg to differ with you on that.
For one, ultradot has a lifetime warranty on their products.
See here: http://www.ultradotwest.com/ultradot...20warranty.pdf
Second, I have a ultradot MatchDot on my 454 casull revolver with well over 1000 rounds through it, all of it with the scope on it. Works just like the day I bought it and it holds zero perfectly. I would contend that if it can handle the recoil of the casull round, it shouldn't have much trouble with other options for the sight.
Last, they do make a sight with an on the fly bullet drop compensator setup and I believe it is specifically for ARs/5.56 rounds. Really looks like a good option.
I am no flag waver for these guys as i have 7 scopes and 4 red dot sights. Every last one of them is a different brand. Nevertheless, the UltraDot brand is a fine setup and has a great following by many shooters. Just wanted to straighten out what I feel is misinformation in the quoted post above.
Personally, on my red dot sighted AR I use a Vortex strikefire ($169 most places) with a 3x Primary arms magnifier ($109). I am quite happy with this setup for hunting or SHTF scenarios. Not so much for killing little paper circles with numbers on them, as I am (would like to consider myself more accurate than a 2moa is useful for at 100 yds, especially compared to a fine duplex scope. Compounding the lack of precision is the magnifier, when in uses makes my reticle a 6moa ... Not so good for little round paper targets with scores on them - 6moa is just fine for thorax or shoulder shots at up to a couple of hundred yards tho.
Personally, for a couple of hundred bucks I would consider getting one of the Vortex offerings, and on an equal level, would be the Primary Arms Red dots. I know the Vortex includes a mount, and I think the PA one does too.
For well, quite a bit more, is the AimPoint Pro, or the EoTech 512 at about 400 smackers each.
Any way,
Good luck! And don't cheap out!sigpic
