Great price on a decent (?) scope

I just ordered this BSA Sweet 22 scope from Amazon. I have heard some good things about this scope, but I have no personal experience with BSA products. At Bass Pro, it is over a 100 dollars more. For 40 bucks, I couldn't pass it up. I figure at least it will be better than the 30 or 40 year old cheapie Bushnell that came with my new to me 10/22. If you get one, remember to use Shop42A.com.

I bought a sweet 22 for my 597 last year because of the price and the good reviews I read on it, and also the fact that it came with a lifetime warranty. I mounted it, zero'd it and took it to the range twice and took it off. It hold zero and it's decently clear....but the lines/crosshairs are too thick, even the barska I had on there before had thinner lines and the whole bullet drop thing isn't too accurate. But what did I expect from a scope that I paid $50 for....

On a 10/22, unless it's a high-stakes competition rifle, who cares? I wouldn't put one on a .308 Win, no, but the cheapie BSA's do just fine on 10/22's at 100 yards and less. At high magnification, things can get a bit blurry, so I run mine on 7x and get quite satisfactory results. For $40, it does the job.

Now, the Mosin in 7.62x54R...that gets the Redfield Revolution, because the kick on that thing'd shake the BSA's internals to shreds in short order. But that's a Mosin, not a 10/22.

If a scope can't live on a .22, it doesn't deserve to be put on any firearm.
I imagine the BSA would be on par with Barska, NcStar, UTG, etc. based on the price?

Minor update: I got the scope a few days ago and finally have it mounted on my 10/22. It just barely fits with Weaver medium rings on a Weaver base for the 10/22. I think the Weaver base and rings are more secure than the tip off mounts that are normally on 22 rifles.
I haven't taken it to the range yet, but it is clearer than the Bushnell Sharpshooter that came with the rifle. It seems to be a little brighter as well. The BSA seems well built and the adjustments for parallax, magnification, windage, and elevation seem smooth and solid. The eyepiece focus is a little stiff, but I won't be moving that now that I have it set. I am interested to see how well the whole bullet drop compensation thing works with the different turrets for different weight bullets.

I won't say that is the equal of my Nikon Monarch or even the Prostaff, but it does look to be at least a little better than a bottom tier scope. The only negative so far is that it just seems BIG om my little carbine, but that is just aesthetics. I don't think I would have bought it at regular price (149 at Basspro) but so far I am really happy with my 40 dollar scope. Of course, I haven't shot with it yet and that is what really matters.

I ordered two complete setups, one for a 10/22 and one for a 597. I figure that for plinking I couldn't go wrong.
