full mil-spec AN/PVS-14 Gen 3+ night vision scopes

Ready Made Resources is having a special on genuine full mil-spec AN/PVS-14 Gen 3+ night vision scopes. For a limited time they are offering these "grade A" scopes with a free Picatinny rail weapons mount, free shutter eyepiece and free shipping. As usual, these include aa head mount and carry case . These have a five year warranty and free annual maintenance for five years. Normally $3,895, these are on sale for $2,795 with free shipping.https://www.readymaderesources.com/c...prod_2675.html

Can someone spot me $2,795 Seriously, I have been saving for one of these. Does any one own this model and ordered from this company before?

I ask this for my own education, but how are they able to sell this? AN/AVS-9 goggles aren't supposed to be sold to the public (but a version with slightly less accuity can be sold on the private side to EMS and the like), so I've wondered how a Gen 3 "mil spec" device like this gets sold legally.

    Anyone know?

Where have you heard they are not supposed to be sold to the pubic? I had not heard this.

I know they are ITAR controlled, which means no sales to non-US citizens, and not allowed to export. EOTech sights are also ITAR controlled and I can definitely buy some of those.

I heard that in a Nite Lab. It wasn't at MAWTS, but taught by a guy who went through the MAWTS training. The guy teaching it also flies EMS on the outside and said his goggles for the EMS job had a slightly less optical density. Basically they weren't built to spec, just slightly less than spec to, in his words, meet the requirement.

Maybe he stretched the truth a bit, but it made sense to me at the time since you can't get other items like Class 3b lasers from companies like BE Meyers unless you're doing it through some sort of government purchase system.

I'm not at that unit anymore, so I'll ask the Nite Lab guy where I'm at now and see if he knows one way or the other (though I doubt it) next week.

I noticed that the same company is selling these:

They call it an AVS-9, but then the verbiage actually notes that it's based off the design and "improved." There's also no NSN associated with it, nor with the PVS, so I wouldn't be surprised if that's how they're able to sell them. They're not the actual product, just something close.

Or maybe I'm just wrong. Like I said, my question was for curiosity's sake.
