words do not describe how much I am in disagreement with you. Its your firearm, so what I think doesnt really matter.

Yes, while it is not the most pleasing thing in existence, it will serve as a decent temporary sight. In the future I'm looking to get a front sight gas block such as a Young Mfg. or a YHM -- I know it's UTG/Leapers, and it's known to be more geared toward Airsoft and such, but I'd rather have a temporary sight for home-defense in the meantime than no sight at all. And I know that if I'm going to be in this business, I shouldn't cut corners for firearm rated accessories/parts in the first place..
Doing this modification was to cut off some weight and bulk to make the sight much more compact and somewhat "better" looking

You had an idea and made it happend, it doesn't matter what we think its up to you! You like it now better than before and that's perfectly fine. There plent of stuff people do to their guns that I think is hideous but in all reality what others think is irrevelant.

I actually think it looks pretty good. Nice work with the dremel too. When I hear the words "Modify" and "Dremel" used together in the same sentence, I automatically anticipate horrors beyond words Yours turned out really well, looks like it was machined that way. I'd be a little concerned with the loss of structural integrity from the removal of the back leg of the triangle, but as long as it doesn't get bumped too hard it should be okay.

Looks cool. I worry about what would happen if the rifle were dropped or hit hard against the FSB though.
