Tri-pod for Mark 4 Spotting Scope

Any ideas? Looking for something that will work low while prone or off the bench and also while sitting/kneeling. Needs to be rock steady with smooth adjustments.

    Thanks

manfrotto. Well worth the money. Different types. Some go all the way to the ground.

I got one from back in my photography days. Those are worth every penny, very flexible in positioning and very stable.

Get some stout legs and a good head, make a world of difference with anything heavy or high magnification, helps a bunch with small vibrations and wind.

That's what I ended up with. $70 from Best Buy, stable enough.

Try it out… and see how you like it. If you don’t like it you can always return it.

Good place to shop for stuff like that is http://www.bhphotovideo.com/

I think I paid around $300 for my tripod + ball head, but it’s also stout enough to hang an AR off, or a SLR with a very large lens.

Where better tripods start to become a big deal is when you start raising the neck, higher you more the more shake you get and the more it’s amplified.

They don’t make mine anymore, but it was something like this.

You can get a lot of flexibility depending on which model you get… I use mine when kicking back in a chair, prone, standing, you name it.
