    SightMark

Just wondering if they are worth the money? I am looking for a couple budget red dot sights for a couple different rifles. Something I can move around from rifle to rifle without a big investment. I currently own an EoTech, Vortex, as well as a couple Primary Arms, Leapers, and even a Barska.....I know but the Leapers and Barska are on 22's

No experience with their red dots, but I do have a few of their 2.5-10X32 scopes. Really decent optics considering the price point. Exceptionally clear glass and excellent turret adjustments. If their red dots are comprable in quality, I'd say go for it.

+1 for FMJBT. Nice optics at a good price. Sellmark, their parent company, does a great job at offering a varity or products at different prices and the sightmark line is a tough well made product.

IF you really own a Leapers/Barska/UTG/Sightmark/Sight-X, then you KNOW they're crap-o-la, and WON'T last even on an AR's recoil.

        1) PINCH pennies 'til they scream
        2) Shop the 'used equipment' board here and elsewhere, for good, late-model, gently-used, AFFORDABLE gear!
        3) Aimpoint, EOTech, Trijicon - anything else, ya' rolls da' dice and takes ya' chances!

I agree there not the best....but the funny thing is I have had to use my Leapers / UTG a couple times while my EoTech was being repaired / replaced.....I have not had any issues with the couple Leapers / UTG or even the Barska that I own. They are usually mounted on 22's unless I have to use them in a pinch.....

You forgot Ultradot. They make really well made red dot sights. The Matchdot is a fantastic red dot sight for .22's or match 1911's in open division. They hold up to a .44mag recoil like a champ and I've heard them go on a higher caliber gun as well. There are other red dots too, but just wanted to mention this one.

Ignore the brand snobs...there are plenty of them in the gun world...

It's like Rolls Royce vs Lexus vs Toyota

They all do the job.....most of these gun snobs prefer Rolls Royce so they can show them off to their friends

Buy different brands at the same time, thy them all out, see which fits your needs, then return the others...That's what I did from Amazon

I ended up keeping my Sightmark 14000 (better value then the 14002 and 14003)...Returned the eotech, trijicon, leapers and nc star

Tip: call sightmark and tell them you want to be one of their authorized dealers (takes few minutes to be approved...order 10 optics/scopes co so you get super low factory price (youll only be charged if you keep them after 30 days)...return the remaining 9 items (free return shipping)....save lots of money

Also...as a products quality/durability increases....the price increases exponentially...like eotech and trijicon and leapers.........like everything else in the world

FIND THE BEST VALUE AND IGNORE GUN SNOBS!!!!!!!

Gun snobs like to show off and hate it when they see other people paying much less for things that do the job

You know, most of the time I would agree with you but optics (up to a certain price point and extent) you pay for what you get. I have a Truglo that has been a champ of a scope and as clear as my Leupold, Nikon, and other scopes that I would consider mid grade scopes. No they're not a nightforce, Trijicon, S&B, USO, or other super high end but it works and does the job for cheap. I think its a fluke how clear it is and how well it tracks. But to say that NCstar, Sightmark, and other cheapo scopes do the same thing as a high end scope, you've got it a bit wrong. The durability, trackability, (made up word) clarity, and consistency under recoil make a quality red dot, fixed or variable scope, or other optic a quality versus a cheap scope. You can't compare an EOtech vs a Sightmark outside the fact that they're both aiming devices.
