    AK-47 Mount Install

Anyone know who can permanently weld or rivet a side mounting bracket so I can put a side rail on my AK? I'm looking for a gunsmith in the South Bay.

    Thanks,

I own several AK's all have an Ultimak on them holds zero and allows 1/3 lower cowitness. Unless your mounting a scope you don't need a side rail
ultimak make some of the best ak 47 mounts on the market. Ultimak also makes shotgun optic mounts, mini 30 scope mounts, and handguards for ak47.

you might want to consider TWS - I use one and love it! Super solid.

I used to use a quad rail up front, but I prefer the RDS to be back farther and the lost weight (when removing quad rail) was pleasant.

yes, and I was just looking at these on your site yesterday... I will probably need another one soon... do you know when you will have the rear peeps in stock? Or better yet, do you know if TWS will make production notched leaf site built in (instead of add-on)?

I had a special order with the leaf site installed at time of order (rather than swapping out) - it's a bit cheaper and less hassle... maybe you can request some? I prefer the leaf site to the peep - but if they are still sold separate, I'll probably get the peep this time.

I have an aimpoint micro on a midwest industries quad rail foreend but I find myself getting annoyed when cleaning the rifle because I have to remove the top handguard before I can get the gas tube off.

I recently riveted a side rail mounting bracket to my ak pistol to see if I like that better. I got the side rail and scope mount from kalinka optics

                mount - http://kalinkaoptics.com/mounts/ak-v...ck-finish.html

                side rail - http://kalinkaoptics.com/ak-74mp-sid...ting-rail.html

they are pretty heavy though, but fairly easy to rivet on using the ak builder riveting fixture

That's the great thing with the Ultimak is that you don't need to remove in order to clean and never worry about loosing 0.

Forgive the ignorance, as I am brand new to optics (eyes gettin a bit blurry with age). But I have been pulled my hair out trying to get my current scope to not vibrate itself loose on my SKS. I currently have one of these http://www.valhallaarmory.com/SKS_Sc...nt_p/mtsks.htm and the only way to keep it from shaking is to tighten the screws into the eye holes but within 2-3 shots its loose again. Im trying to learn to zero a scope and to get everything correct, however this is making things nearly impossible.

Would there be a way of mounting the type of pieces linked by nothinghere2c on a Norinco SKS, in a way that would allow me to use my factory upper reciever cover and still have my optics?

I ordered the TWS rail system from PA this last weekend.
