Just wondering how many people have put a camera filter on their rifle scope to protect the obj lens.
A lot of camera people know to clean the lens ONCE, and screw on a 1A or UV filter onto the lens to keep it from getting dirty/scratched/fingerprints or just plain over cleaned which removes a lot of the lens coating over time...
Then you just brush/clean the filter whenever it gets dirty. If the filter gets damaged or scratched, get a new filter for $3 to $30.... The better/more expensive ones will not degrade the light transmission.
People with higher end scopes should really consider doing this.
I dont have a high end scope, but do want to protect it. Unfortunately I have a nikon with 40mm obj lens, and it seems 'cameras' 40.5mm is common... So, I'm thinking about pushing it into the BC flip up to hold it, if I cant find the right dia filter to screw on...
