need help mounting red dot or scope on ar

Hello. I have an ar15 that has a permanent carry handle. Will a red dot or scope be uncomfortable and just goofy or what? Thanks

Our 3x allows for mounting of scopes on a carry handle. It will sit just a little high but still feel comfortable and effective out to 600 yards.

I had a Colt Sporter Match Target HBAR, and used this to move a red dot out in front of the carry handle.

It attaches to the carry handle, but drops down to put a dot optic at a more comfortable level. There's also a much more expensive EOTech version, the 9-MWG-SAM3AH:




Obviously, this is for non-magnified optics - a scope is not going to work in this configuration. Some people don't seem to mind raising their heads up to use a scope on a carry handle - you might consider a cheek piece, depending on the type of stock you have.
