I need High rings or Extra High?

Not worried about co-witness just mounting a scope

Usually extra high will do it. Its always good to double check teh height of the specific ring set to make sure its about that 1.5'' height.

Take measurements to be sure. Your objective should be as low as possible to your gun without interference. It really doesn't matter what manufacturers label as medium, high, low, whatever... Take measurements.

I'd look into some sort of a one piece scope mount. There are many available and it takes out most of the guessing for proper scope height. Some brands to look into:

Burris PEPR
Nightforce Unimount
Larue SPR
ADM
GG&G
Bobro

Well, almost. For an AR it depends on the stock, the straight stock without a drop in the comb requires higher rings to receive a proper cheek weld. Typical ring height for the AR is around 1.3" to 1.5" from the receiver rail. Having the scope objective to just clear the fore end is usually too low to gain any sight picture.
