What the heck happened to Buttler Creek scope caps?

I have bough many Butler Creek scope caps over the years and these things were tough as nails. Recently I bought a scope off the market place that the front cap was broken. I figured no biggy I'll just order a new one. I figured the previous owner just had a mishap and it broke. I bought a new on and installed it.

Well the first range trip it snapped right off! It was an identical break as the one that was on it. I figure all good things come to an end and such is the quality of Butler Creek caps.

What is a good cap out on the market?

The company was sold... they started using S*** plastic and now they break at the slightest touch.

Frankly I feel they've become the worst scope caps made today.

I will never buy another Butler Creek. I've broken half a dozen.

Second that! Butler Creek caps are now worthless. I have broken 4 pairs. All of them came with the scopes, so I never have and will never pay for there caps again.

Just wonderful, why couldn't I have seen this earlier? I just bought three of them.

          So what are the alternatives?

Ditto, I've broken my fair share of BC caps. I stick to bikini covers now.

Vortex makes some caps that are way better. Plus I also hear there's a tactical version of butler creek caps but I haven't tried them. I have the Vortex's on my Nightforce's and they work great.

The full rubber ones are all made by Butler Creek, too.

I was ready to replace all my BC(broken) scope caps with Leupold Alumina covers, but someone pointed out the Alumina only fits Leupold scopes.
The BC Tactical version is for 30mm red dot sights only. It seems the cap cannot fold 270 degrees flat, only 90 degrees.
                    I'll try skkeeter's Vortex suggestion.

Vortex doesnt have as many sizes out yet but they are quality covers. You really can feel the difference right away.
