    Favorite 1911 sights?

What are some of the sights you 1911 users like the best? I am looking for something very high visibility during daylight for competition shooting for a Kimber Custom II 1911....currently just has the stock sights on it...

Dawson Precision fiber optic front sight paired with a Bomar adjustable rear sight. The DP front sight has the advantage of the bright fiber optic but not too overwhelming that you wouldn't see the edges of the front sight. Seeing the edges of the front sight is necessary for far targets. I also prefer the green fiber instead of the red.

That's precisely what I have on my Springfield 1911, except I have a red fiber optic.

Stay with the stock sights for awhile. Once you master the sight alignment and sight picture, then change out. Red picks up the light better than green.

For me, TFO (Tritium Fiber Optic) is hard to beat.

+1 on the Dawson FO front.

I really love these for shooting competition for a rear sight: http://www.brownells.com/.aspx/pid=9...ESS-REAR-SIGHT

Personally I like a dab of nail polish and a clear coat! LOL i wanted to have the front sight of my GI Colt dovetailed, but the price was just too high.

Don't forget you can also choose front/rear sight widths to adjust your sight view.
