    Acog problem

    Sup All,

I have a trijicon ta-31f acog. I had purchased it before I got the rifle for it. The issue is it seems you gotta be right up on it to see thru it. Is it just me or is that the case? I didn't adjust anything I just slapped it on and took a quick look. I have it on a ranch rifle but was thinking I might need to go with a standard scope or something else for that platform.

Your nose should be touching or nearly touching the charging handle. If it’s too uncomfortable, move the irons from the rear of the receiver to in front of the ACOG (or just ditch them) or get a cantilever mount or spacer.

Naw this was gonna go on my new Sig MCX-R it's a ranch rifle. I need a scope or a romeo and juliet duo maybe. Wonder if an eotech red dot would work 0.0

ACOG not ideal for that particular rifle unless you are a giraffe. I’d consider low or medium power glass or as you mentioned, a dot of some kind.

Eotech or other red dot would work or maybe a scout style scope?

Thanks for the replies. Yeah, I shoulda done more research on the acog. I'm lookin at an eotech vudu for $1300 or an $800 eotech dot. I'm kinda leaning towards a dot I'm lookin for this build to be a close range fighter. Any thoughts on aimpoint dot's? It's for the sig regulator

Thanks for the trade boogak the vortex Scope works fantastic those lpvo's sure are beefy. I've been pretty impressed by the vortex optics I've seen. I usually fanboy Zeiss as my precision Scope is a nice zeiss but I think I'm gonna have to go with vortex now for price vs what you get. A 1-6 zeiss is $1700 bucks lol

An LPVO would be the most versatile, like a Vortex 1-10x Razor or Nightforce ATACR, if you want to spend the money. A red dot, even with a magnifier, isn't the best for semi-long range shooting.

There are lots of reviews on youtube.

Thanks for the reply. I traded with a local guy for a vortex viper pst gen II 1-6 in a nice mount. I have to say I really like it very respectable glass. I'm not really lookin for a long range set up with this one though to be honest. I just wanted something to plink with out to 300 yards. I have two cheap red dots for it too. I got a Sig romeo and a vortex strike fire II just for fun. I think I might add a warhammer charging handle though.
