    Tasco Custom Shop made in Japan 8-40x56 scope

    I've usually got my eye out for nice Japan made Tasco scopes. I've glommed a 36X and a couple of 24X target scopes and recently got this 8-40x56 made in Japan by the Tasco Custom Shop.

    This one appears to have never been mounted and comes in the original box, with all the paper work, allen wrench, lens cloth, etc. It is the model that has the large side focus ring at the turret housing.

    Does anyone know when these were actually made and which "custom shop" actually made them?

    Thanks

    Hakko was the main oem maker now known as Japan optics.
    TURNING and turning in the widening gyre
    The falcon cannot hear the falconer;
    Things fall apart; the centre cannot hold;
    Mere anarchy is loosed upon the world,
    The blood-dimmed tide is loosed, and everywhere
    The ceremony of innocence is drowned;
    The best lack all conviction, while the worst
    Are full of passionate intensity.

    William Butler Yeats 1865-1939
