FYI Old style Vortex Spitfire 1x prism scope on sale

For those of us who have issues with red dots and stigmatism, Midway has the old style Vortex Spitfire 1x prism scope for sale for $135. It looks like a limited run. Had one years ago, sold it, then regretted selling it, and now I'm getting a new one for less than I sold the old one for.

I like these over the Spitfire AR because they are simple, rugged, and you can have a high or low mount. It will probably end up on the 7.62x39 AR.

I was just thinking about this, how do they work with Magnifier ? I have vortex 3x Magnifier.

More importantly - how much harder it is to find vs. red dot ?

They don't work with a magnifier because they are an optical scope, not just a piece of glass that a red dot is projected onto.

In my experience they are slightly slower to find than a traditional red dot because the eyebox is a bit more restricted. It's about as fast as a 1-(whatever power) lpo.

BTW, I returned the scope. I remembered why I sold the 1st one when I looked through the new one. Overall they are a great prism scope, but the reticle didn't work for me.
