Need help finding a cheap scope for 308

I just got my howa 1500 in 308 and only have 250 to spend for a scope. I trying to get 700 yards shot out of it. Havent look threw any low end scope at 700 yards to see the target or know if it will hold its zero.

Bought a Tasco Pronghorn for $40 at Outdoor Sportsman (Stockton) and stuck it on my M1a. Works great so far! I have a similar Bushnell on my K31 and have cleaned rams at 500m with it.

I'd suggest the BSA MRAD scope sold through Midway. It's a great long range scope for the price. The reticle design also lets you use hold overs out to around 1000 yards for 308 rather than dialing knobs. Excellent glass considering the price as well.

Your rifle is as bad as your worst piece of equipment. Don't get a garbage scope.

BSA, Leapers, Tasco, lower model Bushnell, Simmons are JUNK. I know, I've gone that route and learned the hard way. They won't hold zero, reticles can jar loose, they'll have terrible eye relief, and clarity won't be worth a damn. You'll be doomed to a ton of frustration as you try to figure out what is wrong.

You can get a Nikon Buckmaster 4.5 - 14X scope for around $300. Other possibilities would be a Bushnell 3200 or 4200, Vortex Diamondback or Viper, Burris Fullfield II. That's about as cheap as I'd go. If you want higher magnification, you'll probably have to fork out some more cash too.

This is a good scope, if your serious about shooting further out you will need tactical turrets. Not having them means you can't dial into specific ranges and back.
