    3x magnifier

Looking for a reliable 3x magnifier with fts for $100-200 range budget. Any suggestions?

I use Burris AR Tripler, got it when Natches was blowing them out for under $100 (89 IIRC)... the eye relief is very short though. decent price here: http://www.red-dot-scopes.com/burris...ts-300212.html

I previously had Lucid 2-5x variable magnifier, it's a great unit... I havent used their 3X mag, but I suspect it's good (based on having had the variable and the HD7 rds)... http://www.mylucidgear.com/magnifiers.php

The new Primary Arms magnifiers that state long eye relief are intriguing... if I were in the market right now, I'd be looking into those: https://www.primaryarms.com/Magnifiers_s/426.htm

Look out for a used LaRue/Hensoldt Po-boy in the EEs and Classifieds on various gun forums. Last year, here on calguns, I found a clean unmodified Hensoldt in a LaRue LT-649 for around $150.

I also have a fake airsoft Aimpoint clone that a calgunner threw in with a trade, its glass is clear and has been problem free so far.

If you don't mind me asking, why do you no longer have the Lucid setup?

i like the short eye relief, which lets me keep my eye in the same position it would be for irons -- nose to charging handle -- without having to push the magnifier forward. (i assume we're both talking about ARs here.)

burris just redesigned the AR-tripler, so i suspect natchez was clearing out inventory of the first-generation model. it was a great deal; i bought two.

primarily because I wanted quick detach (ended up with Burris XTS 135 and AR tripler)... if the HD7 didnt have a fixed mount, I probably would have kept it... Also wanted a bit more compact (the Lucid setup was a bit bulky)...

HD7 w/2-5x magnifier on ADM QD swing mount is a really good set-up though... for the price it's a good choice. I just wish the HD7 had QD option.

I got the Burris XTS 135 for $130 shipped during Midway sale and the AR tripler for $85 shipped when Natchez had them on sale... for $215 I couldn't pass it up... temporarily using Sun Optics mount rings (which are surprisingly good - in fact, I think they might be the same as Primary Arms and several others)... Waiting for Burris XTR QD and AR Pivot Rings to be released.
