    Unimpressed with Streamlight TLR-4

Just got one from Dvor. I'm going to send it back Monday. Felt very cheap and flimsy. Laser seemed to be low power. Light was bright but the beam was a bit too narrow. None of the 6 keys fit my HK45c well either. The little metal (chrome) switch for the light and/or laser with very thin and fragile feeling with no off position. I'm sure the battery life would be better as it is a C4 Led bulb.
Maybe I'm spoiled with my M6x.

If someone really wants one now, I'll sell for the 99 bucks that I paid for it. If you're local to me, I'll let you check it out. - not trying to turn this into a for sale ad....

Shoulda gone with the TLR1s instead heard nothng but good about it. However having to buy the doors and switches seperatly is lame. Why doesn't someone offer a tactical package for those that includes everything is beyon me.

So I just received my new Streamlight TLR-1s from LAPoliceGear.com and I thought I'd share an early review with everyone. Having previously owned a TLR-2 (light with laser) I know the Streamlight products to be durable and well made. I had no complaints with the TLR-2 but I have decided to start...

My TLR-2 has been great. Unless Streamlights QC has fallen considerably, I have no doubt the TLR-4 is another good unit.

But until I personally handle and use one, I'll reserve judgement.

        I've got several TLR3 and a TLR1, they've been awesome.

I have the TLR-1, and it is anything but flimsy... I like it the best of the bunch.

You bought the wrong tlr 4. There is a specific model made for the hk's with a specific rail mount key. I know because I just got one for my dad and his new Springfield xd9 long slide and botach sent the hk tlr 4. The one you got has all the keys which fit every other gun. The one you need fits only the hk.
That aside I will say that the laser isn't as bright as my crimson trace grip on my sig, but it isn't as weak as you say. The chrome switch is only for switching between laser, light, or both. And for that I think it's plenty strong. In fact it's the same one on the nicer aluminum laser/light. I personally don't like the functionality of a light/ laser and went with the crimson trace grip and tlr 3 combo.
The light on it is very bright and once you have the proper fitting key the on off switch works great. I think for the price all of streamlights weapon mounted lights are some of the best buys out there.
I think if you get the right light you may be happier with your purchase. The only part it replaces is the metal side of the rail grabber with a long clamp opposite the screw head. It's because of hk's weird *** rail design. Good luck!
