Little knowledge with scopes...

Hey I have an stag arms model 2t in 5.56 cal. AR-15 and was wondering on a good scope to get for hutning coyotes and small game, maybe some range just for fun. so far I have read that a 3x9x40 in a leapold would be good but its over $300 anyone have a good reccomendation without spending a 3rd on what I did on the gun haha. I have used scopes for hunting for yrs but no real experience with choosing them.

Look into the Redfield Revolution scopes. They are owned by Leupold and are pretty decent from what I hear. I think their 3-9x goes for about $199

Spend any less than that on a scope and you are asking for trouble.

Check out Cabelas they have the new Nikon p223 3-9x40 scope and it comes with a free mount and free shipping for $199. It is the scope I just bought for my new AR.

Those look like nice scopes esp. for under $300 does anyone know of a possibly shorter? my ar-15 is CA legal but still rather short for that. If im just beating a dead horse let me know I found a shorter one for like 80 buit had horrible reviews...

Just thinking about looks but if a shorter scope is one those "dreams" I'm alright with it. thanks for all the link I really enjoy the nikkon and the hilux at so far.

For shorter the Nikon P-223 comes in a 3x32 which is 8.1 inches long. How short are you looking for?? This also gets free mounts until April 22.

It doesn't have to be a red dot or anything I just thought 12.5 was a little long for a ar15. I have the afram front sight and a rear flip sight. it's a 5.56 cal don't think it matters though.

is there a major difference with the shorter 3x32 for my ar? I like that its few inches shorter just don't know alot about scopes.

I ended up ordering that scope and was curious about the effective range? Im probably just going to hunt Coyotes back in Idaho while on leave and have fun at the range. It's been pretty hard to find simple reviews or people who have this scope.
