    BSA scope crosshairs rotate!!!

Ok... So a buddy picked up a used BSA 1.5x4.5 scope this past weekend at a local gun show. Everything looked cool nothing to note on the exterior. He put it on his 22 then called me to tell me the crosshairs started to rotate after around 30 rounds. I googled it and this does happen but my question is can it be fixed or is it trash?

it was trash when it was new.
Tell your buddy to buy a good scope

I suggest using it as a target.

You asked if it can be fixed or if it's trash. I told you it is trash. Answered your question. Not worth fixing.
You can help your friend by telling him he got what he paid for. You can help your friend by telling hime to buy a better scope.

Our Dear Leader would refer to this as a 'teachable moment'.

Anyways... Anybody know if this sort of thing is fixable or not?

Since you obviously dont like my answer. Call BSA and see if they will fix it.
I'm telling you, its not worth fixing. Its not even worth the shipping to send it back for a repair.
There is a chance I know what I'm talking about since I work for a high-end optics manufacturer

Does it need to be worded differently for you?

"Your friend" needs to take the scope, and promptly insert it into the nearest trashcan.

Why are there always so many threads about these pieces of garbage. Any amount of basic searching on google should give anyone a good indicator that they're a gamble at best. You may not need the life lesson, but "your friend" does.

                      +1

I just typed up a short essay on optics like this in another thread.... if you actually care to read this, or have your friend read it.

In short... its not worth fixing, their warranty department sucks, YOU pay shipping to and from for the optic. Send in junk for repair, get junk back. +1 on trashcan, lesson learned. Do extra research, spend a little more, get decent stuff.

Or you can just live with it, and just consider the rotating reticle a new feature.

Sarah Palin crosshairs 'never intended to be gun sights,' says aide

Listen to Sarah. Throw the scope away and use the iron sights the gun came with.

Lol... I love what happened to this thread!

Honestly all I was looking for was a "nope you can't fix that" or a "hey adjust it like this"....

Wasant really lookin for a sermon about buying quality. I didint buy the thing.

Just look up their warranty and see what can be done. Chances are it will be cheaper for them to simply send you a new one than it will be to fix it. If and when they send you a new one, sell it on ebay and put that money towards a higher quality scope. You can get a nice Leupold or Nikon 1-4X scope for right around $250. Buy into one of those brands and you'll be set. And when I say you, I mean your friend.
