    Primary arms or Vortex Strikefire

Ok I am getting ready to order one of these and I am looking for any one with experience with either one or with both. I know some people will say just save up and get an Aimpoint, Eotech, or Acog, but I don't want to spend that much right now....so any info would help thanks.

    Strikefire

I purchased a Strikefire about 3 months ago. I've put about 500 rounds through with this optic mounted. I have enjoyed it and it has worked well. I haven't lost zero, no problems with mount, and I haven't found the on/off button to be an issue. Then lens cap covers are a bit of a pain to take on and off, but I think its a good thing if you are looking to keep your glass clean. I bought the Red/Green dot version which is fine for me, it was plenty bright on a sunny Colorado day with snow on the ground. I like the green, as its easier for me to acquire quickly. Some say the red only version of the strikefire is brighter, but I don't see it as an issue. Vortex backs this product with a no questions asked lifetime warranty. Its no aimpoint, and the battery life is a good indicator of that. But for a range gun, this thing does the trick and gives me a peace of mind with a good warranty. I have also heard good things about PA. They seem like good budget sights, not sure about their warranty. Hope this helps, good luck!

The Strikefire uses a CR2 battery.

You might also consider the Vortex SPARC.

The SPARC uses two CR 2354 batteries, coin cells similar to the batteries used in watches.

Nice review of it here: http://www.ar15.com/forums/t_2_277/187104_.html

I have a PA red dot with over 6000k rounds on it. I have run it hard I'm courses and in the desert. Although I must disclose that it recently lost zero but I re zeroed it without any problems and fired another 200 rounds without issue. I'd trust it. I've heard the strike fire works well, but I have no experience with it.

Oh btw I've had the same aa battery for 2 years. Although I admit I don't leave it on as one does with an aimpoint.

Running a Strikefire [red only version] no complaints. Caps could be better and the screw in magnifier is a bit of a pain. Function wise she's been rock solid.

i had the same question, for me it was between the Vortex and this Bushnell,

i do like how the vortex has the magnifier, and seems like a good buy at the price. i have a friend that has the vortex on a .223 AR, and it works great. i would be putting it on my .308 AR however, so im not sure how it will do on the .308 so ive been debating for the last few days. i really want an ACOG with the 3.5 times mag,but i dont have the spare cash for an $1100 optic at the moment :/

I have also been looking. I decided on the primary arms with the quick release mount. Great price here!
