2-7 scope for AR with .22 upper rimfire or not

I've a 22LR upper on an AR, that I'm thinking of putting a scope on.
I'm thinking something like Leupold 2-7x28 rimfire might do.
But I plan to add a .223 upper as well, and being able to use the same scope might be handy.

If I look at centerfire scopes, none of the 1-4 or 2-8 type scopes
have parallax adjustment and are all set for 100yards vs 60yards for the scope above.

Will a centerfire 1-4 (eg Nikon M-223 1-4x20) or 2-8 scope on a .22 be ok
or will I notice the parallax issue?

Oh, and Nikon's mount for the M-223 has 20MOA adjustment in it,
I'm guessing that might be a problem with a .22 so was considering Leuold's

Wouldn't go with a rimfire scope if you plan to swap it between rifles.

You'll be perfectly fine using a centerfire scope on a .22 upper. I have a Barska 1-4x on my .22 upper and it's awesome.

I would also think that a 20 MOA mount would be fine on a .22. It would allow you to lob your shots out a little farther, although there wouldn't be much point. It's more like shooting artillery out past 200 than a rifle.

Weaver 1-3x20mm on PA mount, parallax set at 100yds but not an issue even at 25yds because I have a consistent cheek weld to buttstock.

You only need the extra MOA mounts if you plan to shoot beyond 600yds. Burris PEPR is fine for 600yds and you can get those w/QD mounts.

Thanks, for the input, I'm mainly interested in 15-100 yards for .22 and even with .223 I'd expect 20-200 to be most common.

If I skip the rimfire scopes there are more options, lots of 1-4s and 2-7's in the $100-300 range, eg. Leupold 1-4x20 VX Hog or Nikon M-223 1-4x20 are both about the same price,
the Leupold rifleman 2-7x33 is even cheaper. Too many choices ;-)

FWIW I'm currently leaning to either Leupold VX-1 2-7x33 or VX-2 1-4x20 with a plain duplex reticle.
The VX-2 1-4x20 is only a little more than the Nikon M-223 (on sale at Midway - but has a much busier reticle).
