Best "Value" Red Dot

Really, really cheap is the Tasco BKRD30, $33 at Wally World and its reliable, well made, and holds zero. May not co-witness on an AR w/o some riser though.

Next would be Bushnell TRS-25 under $80 "got mine for $40 after rebate, gunslick deal a few months back" (right gun)

+1 on the vortex strikefire. Though maybe a little steep for a "budget" optic, its worth the money. 150 dollars, lifetime warranty, the dot has held up on my 223 ar for my first 500 rounds. No complaints. Great optic for the price.

Another optic I have heard good things about is the lucid hd-7. Comparable to the Strikefire, its a toss up between the two.

I think the best value (getting my money's worth) in red dot optics that I have purchased are

The Burris FastFire II (side by side, I didn't see that the Leupold Deltapoint was worth double the price).

The Vortex Sparc. Night Vision compatible, and a 2X screw-in magnifier is included, as well as a mount. I didn't use the 2X magnifier as much as I thought I would. Like at all.

Probably a good question would be "what is the best optic for around X dollars?" Bushnell Tactical announced the First Strike at SHOT Show.

+1 for Primary Arms. I had one for a while and was pleasantly surprised by the quality. Their customer service is excellent also. I've also owned a Vortex Sparc. Vortex makes a decent product that is backed by a lifetime warranty.

I put a primary arms on my M&P .22 and it works great! I got the magnifier as well, but haven't put it on. Like another poster said, inexpensive, but not cheaply made. The different reticles are a plus and a lot of fun. I got the high cant mount for mine.

I'm from the "buy once" school and like quality stuff that doesn't fail. Eotechs are great and can be had for under $400. With that said, I recently purchased a Vortex SPARC. I wanted a decent red dot for a gun that I plink at the range with. I debated between the SPARC and the Primary Arms. It made my decision easier after watching a torture test on the SPARC. The lifetime warranty was the selling point for me. Good luck.

Going back and forth between the micro dot and blem red dot from Primary Arms. Why must life be so difficult?

My favorite is the sig red dot - I've had one for years and it works like the day I bought it, you can save a few bucks by getting wither the konus or itac labeled versions depending on the base you want - also the the bushnel tr25 on my other rifle is pretty sweet for about half the price.

If you are not going to beat on your gun the burris fast fire is sweet, if you want the same thing but are going to larue has a sick pride fowler reflex sight with a armored surround mount and quick release for 400
