    Optics help...

    Good morning,

I just purchased a Saiga 7.62 x 39 from JG sales. I want to put a scope on it but have no idea where to start. I have never used a scope so would like something easy to use or easy to learn to use. I was thinking of something mid to long range that is easy to squire a target. I would like to keep it under $200. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I just bought a Vortex Crossfire 4-16x50 AO for $119 shipped!!! Good quality, nice clicks on the turrets. Illuminated reticle. Accurate. It's discontinued, thus the price.

More info on the Vortex site.

Thanks. Did you go with the mil dot or v plex? Are they pretty accurate once installed?

Mil dot. More accurate than I am with my DD @ 100 yds.

does it have a siderail? the topcover and upper handguard are NOT good places for optics. either siderail, the way mtk intended, or one of the variations of the beryl mount.
i use siderail with a bp-02 mount. kalinka has for $52. throwlever, removable, nice and low.

It does have a side rail. What will I need to attach it to the side rail?
