I hope this isn't too dumb a question but are all AR-15 BUIS (e.g. - Troy, M.I., A.R.M.S., etc.) all the same height when flipped up. I'm asking because I'm wondering if changing the BUIS will give a different "co-witness" when looking through an Aimpoint (or other RDS) - i.e. - higher or lower. I know that the scope mount can be changed to adjust the co-witness but can just changing to a different BUIS accomplish the same thing? Thanks for any guidance you guys can give me here.

For the most part all rears are the same. Fronts come in rail height or gas block height. But a couple of companies are making micros.
Basic answer, No.
You change the optic mount to change the cowitness height.Comment

Just don't get the Micro Sights, most flip up sights are the std. A2 height. If you buy the matching Troy (not micro) you'll be fine. Also, if you have a gas rail block on the front and its not the same plane as your rear then you'll need to buy the front gas rail sight.Comment
