it is a solid scope for the money, and its maker has an impeccable reputation (i have one mounted on an AR). any more-specific questions?

Here is a scope that is one notch higher, currently out of stock but worth a look.

I would also recommend taking a look at the Nikon M223:

However, the the Mark AR will definitely work well for you.

Leupold is a first rate no BS company. I have many of their scopes and have never had a problem with any of them. It is very hard to beat Leupold for a total package in a scope. Leupold is the only brand I put on my serious hunting and other firearms. I have 4X Weavers on my mini14 and 30 as they are just fair weather fun guns for me. If they were more I would have Leupolds on them.

            Great choice!!

yeah i was actually looking at that same bushnell elite 4200 but when it came down to it i like the look of my mini 14 better with the original rings so i was set on a 1" scope. i went to my local shops and looked at the Burris mtac, i thought the mtac was a cool scope but that reticule is weird in my opinion.

i went ahead and bought the Leupold because after looking though one (no the same model but it was the 3x9) compared with other 1 inch scopes i was sold. everything is so smooth and feels very well built, with very nice glass.

              thanks guys!

I am torn between this Mark AR and the comparable Nikon m233.

I'm thinking the Nikon reticle might get the edge for the win. Thing is, I'm buying 2, so I definitely want to make the right choice.

with the mark ar scopes, you have the option of mil dot vs the nikon bdc reticle, whichever floats your boat between the two. unless your getting the 1-4 zoom, than they are both standard duplex.
