Magnifier Question?

What size MOA dot would you say a 3x magnifier produces? Just curious as my buddy wants to go this route instead of a dedicated 1-4x scope.
The optic it would be used on is a Comp M4

The MOA stays the same because both the reticle and background is magnified, hence the relationship stays the same.
I'd encourage him to look through one before buying.

I've suggested the same but as you probably know it is very hard to find a shop that carries both the optic and magnifier.
