    What is the $33 difference...

...between the Primary Arms Micro Dot With Fixed Base and AR Height Riser Mount for $85 and the Primary Arms Micro Dot With Removable Base PA Riser Ar15 Bundle for $118.

The first weighs 0.5oz. less and the second has a removable base (though, I don't know if the weight of the second will be more once the base is added?). The two red dots themselves share the same specs, but look different. What's the difference between the two packages?

looks like the cheaper one is using the stock base and mounted a rail riser. While the 2nd removes the stock base, and screws into a proprietary base riser.

      kpinole pretty much nailed it..

the first link has a red dot with a fixed base (cannot be removed) and uses a cheap UTG riser.

The second link has a removable base, and adds a "quick release" style, lower 1/3rd mount.

IMO, the 2nd option is the better option.

There is extra cost in machining the removable base but it does give you more mount options. The brightness knob is on the side which is easier to get to mounted on a AR. We put the knob on top of the fixed base because it is more often used on AK gas tube mounts. That gets the electronics away from the heat.
