best value 3-9 hunting scope

What is the best value going right now for a quality 3-9 hunting scope. I'm not looking for top of the line. I'm looking for a clear dependable hunting scope.

Cabela's has the Burris Fullfield E1 3-9x for 179 on sale. Is there anything at that level for a better deal?

The Burris is a good deal at that price. I Paid almost twice that for my Burris. My son bought a PENTAX Game seeker for 69.00 and is satisfied with it. Clearity is fine.

The Burris is slightly better than the Nikon Prostaff at least to my eye.Leupold VX1 would be my 3rd choice.Spend a little more to get the VX2 and I would place it with the Burris and Nikon Buckmaster.I have a few in each make.All 3 manufacturers have good customer service and warranty.

Bushnell elite is better than all mentioned so far, you can find them for $199, normally $299...... they are just a smidge below a conquest. No BS

2nd the Redfield, Leupold took over and for $180-$200 you will get a great quality scope for the money.

Zeiss 3-9x40mm with duplex can be had for $400.00. Hard to argue with that price considering it is made by one of the top tier German scope makers.

Burris Fullfield, Nikon Buckmaster, Vortex Diamondback, Bushnell Elite 3200 all run about $175 for a 3 - 9x (if you shop around) and will all be reliable with very good resolution. The Nikon Prostaff and Redfield Revolution cost a little less and are pretty good too. I wouldn't go any cheaper than those though.

Surf the web and read some reviews so that choose the model that suits your needs best. Nikons have clarity rivaling scopes that cost a lot more, Redfields have generous eye relief, the Vortex has good resolution out to the edges, etc. If you want a specific reticle, that will eliminate some of your options too. I have a Nikon Buckmaster 4.5 - 14X scope with a bullet drop compensating reticle that I love.

If you can come up a bit more to $259, you can find the Nikon Monarch 2 - 8 x 32 scope at Amazon.com. Guaranteed you won't be disappointed in this one.

+1 on the Monarch. I have a 3x12 and just love it. Very bright and clear. Good scope for the money.

I would definitely go with a Bushnell. Great glass for the money. Maybe a Leupold Mark AR. Basically the same as a VX2.
