Mounting pressure for scope rings..

Badger Ordnance recommends 65 lb/in for the bolts and 15 lb/in for the torx screws for their rings. I think 15 lb/in for their bases.
Are these recommendations same across the other brands?
What do you do to make sure your mount is good and not damage the scope?

25-35 in lbs for base to receiver. 55-65in lbs for rings to base. 12-15 in lbs for ring half to ring half.

I tighten them until they're tight enough, then go around and re-check them. Works pretty well for me, but I've been working on mechanical and electronic stuff for 40-odd years now. "Tight enough" is something you just have to develop a feel for.

Also, I don't worry about cosmetic issues (partly because I buy most of my stuff used), and I've seen a lot more problems caused by too loose than by too tight.
