if you sign up with this link I get $10 credit : http://www.dvor.com/s/6o3mo6.html

BTW, I forgot to mention - DVOR has free shipping (ending tonight at 10:00pm our time) no matter how many items you buy... after that it's 9.99. They ship via UPS (unless it's to a PO box, then they use USPS of course)...

great time to get the Konuspot-80!

Also, sometimes this scope is sold with a tripod (many of the $220-$240 packages have one)... it's actually pretty crappy (not horrible, but you can get much better - I got one with the tripod, it's plastic and avg at best)... but this one does not have the tripod (from what I can tell in the description - but comes with the same nylon case which fits the scope and a tripod nicely... for the price, you are better off buying a better tripod anyway.

I got a Konuspot-80 for Christmas last year. Best gift I have received in 4+ years (glad the wife listened to me). :-D

And the tripod is crap but it works in the short term. Seen a couple of guys with stands 4'-6' tall and those look like the way to go if you are going to upgrade the tripod. Sorry couldn't find a linky-poo.

Any of you Konus 80 fans have opinions on the 100mm version? BH has it for $230, or $30 over the 80mm.

What is the eye relief like on the Konus 80mm? Can you look through it with a set of shooting glasses on and still get an acceptable field of view?

Yes, at 20x it has a very forgiving eye relief even with shooting glasses on.

Definitely not an eyeball to eyepiece scope.
