    Diamond sights

    Hello to all,

I was wondering if anyone has any experience using those new sights that are in a diamond shape???? I forgot the brand name for them but I beleive they're sights (front/rear) that in a shape of a diamond. If you do know of a place that sells them I would like to drive to get a pair instead of ordering/inerneting for a pair.

Troy makes them. I believe there may be others.

Some say it helps center the the post faster than a traditional ring. Others, dont find a difference at all. Never really heard anything subjectively bad about them.

If you are already comfortable with a ring and post, I do not think it will offer a big advantage to you. If you are new to peep sights, it might seem quicker

If you are in the Bay Area, Valkyrie in Milpitas has had them in stock

      MrPlink,

I went ahead and ordered a set for my buddy (Troy Industries) 3 days ago and got my confirm number. However I received no further e-mails/notification of shipment. I also tried to send them (customer service) a message and I can't make any connection. Are these guys closed for the holidays????? Assuming they got it I should be all rights receive the order by this coming Thursday. If not I'm gonna get a little hot!!!! All they need to do is send me an e-mail. What's upp withthese guys???

Troy is a great company. Excellent customer service. Don't worry or fret. They are on east coast time.

I wish I saw this early. I would have recommended Diamonheads.

Well let me know how you like your DOAs.

            Hi guys,

If you don't hear from me by this coming Thursday that'll mean they arrived on time. I just wish they would sent the UPS number for tracking.

I have the troy rear diamond sight. It's not bad, but the diamond shape doesn't seem to do anything really. If I'm focusing on the front sight post, the rear sight is such a blur that it could be a diamond, square, triangle, whatever, and I wouldn't be able to tell the difference. The little white horizontal lines on the sides aren't even visible.

I got it for as much as the regular one would have cost me, and I wanted to get a troy rear BUIS already anyway so it really doesn't make much of a difference to me.

But don't be surprised if you don't find them to be "better" than a standard rear sight.

                Merc1138,

The sight are for my bud. I personally don't make a big deal out of them cuz for practical purposes I like the Magpuls better.

Troy make super nice sights but in all practical reasons I'd never pay $200 for them. My bud like them cuz he likes to pretend 2012 is coming and the whole world order will fall!!!

Anyway if I were to buy any type of metal style sights then there's a vast variety that lower in cost that does just as good. For myself the Magpuls are perfect for my personal needs. I know allot people trash/haters plastic but I just shoot from the bench and maybe stand beside the bench and shoot. besides that one would mainly use a red dot electronic sight and use irons as a back-up.

which is why I waited for black friday to order mine for 30% off

But if he wants em as tough as possible, skip the flip ups and go with fixed sights, like LMT.

And Troy can be a little slow to ship, but nothing to worry about. They should email you a tracking no. when they go out

                    MrPlink,
Thanks for your reply so quickly. In that case I'll wait until the end of this week and if nothing shows I'll contact them by phone. Otherwise my buddy may have to wait until 2012 to get them.
